Freddy Cole, Nat King Cole’s youngest brother, lived long and became a jazz superstar. Freddy Cole was Nat King Cole’s only sibling. He moved his family to Atlanta in the 1970s and lived there until 2020, when he died at 88.
Freddy Cole was grieving his 50-year-old wife, Margaret Cole, who had died earlier that year after a brave battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease. Natalie was Freddy’s sole child.
His daughter, Crystal Cole, and his son, Lionel Cole, who is also a musician, were the only members of Freddy Cole’s family to survive his death.
