The Griffin-Spalding County School System was shaken when Spalding High varsity football coach Carl Kearney Jr. was arrested and charged with murdering his girlfriend in Maryland.

Prince George’s County, Maryland, officials arrested 43-year-old Kearney on Saturday after a sad incident. Kearney entered the Division V Clinton police station at 9:20 a.m. and admitted to strangling his girlfriend following an argument in the 800 block of St. James Court.
