Standing tall at 6 feet, 1 inch, Edwards not only breaks racial barriers but also stands out as the tallest skater between the U.S. and Canadian rosters. Her powerful play on the ice has drawn praise from teammates and seasoned Olympians. Hilary Knight, a four-time Olympian, commended Edwards, saying, “The way she can rip the puck, it looks like it’s about to break the glass or rip the netting. I wish I had all those things at that age.”
Edwards, the sole player on the roster making her senior national team debut, has earned her spot through exceptional talent and dedication. U.S. head coach John Wroblewski affirmed his belief in her long-term potential, stating, “She’s earned her way into this position. I believe in her long-term, otherwise she wouldn’t be here.”
Prior to joining the senior national team, Edwards showcased her skills at the June 2022 World U18 Championship, where she earned the MVP title. Notably, she sacrificed her high school graduation ceremony to participate in the tournament.
She helped Wisconsin win the NCAA championship in March and was named Frozen Four all-tournament.
The 2026 U.S. Olympic hockey squad may include Edwards, following Jordan Greenway’s 2018 men’s team.
