Drake becomes first artist in history to cross 75 billion hits on Spotify

Apollo Theater headliner, Drake has made history once again. The “God’s Love” rapper has become the first music artist in history to cross the 75 billion streams mark on popular music streaming platform, Spotify.

“We should get bonuses like athletes to motivate the future artists to be consistent and competitive…so feel free to send a Lebron size cheque. I have enough dinner plates.”

Drake dominated the Billboards charts in 2022 and sold five total diamond-certified records.

Drake and 21 Savage collaboration album “Her Loss”, which came out only in Nov. 2022.  crossed the one billion streams mark on Spotify in December 2022.

In August 2022, Drake became the most-shazamed artist of all time with over 350 million shazams.

According to an report in 2021, Spotify steams had earned Drake a whopping $52 million in royalties. Drake had 21.5 billion streams at the time. Now he has 75 billion. Do the math!

Although the Toronto rap star was humbled by the honor, he’s looking for more than just plaudits.

On Wednesday, Drake jumped on his Instagram Story showing a screenshot that claimed he had become the first artist in history to exceed 75 billion streams on the popular streaming platform.

Drake will most likely see a huge boost in streams later this year, if and when he embarks on a joint tour with 21 Savage, as he teased last year.
