Jayson Tatum’s record-breaking 51 points in the do-or-die Game 7 of the NBA playoffs against Philadelphia’s 76ers has powered the Boston Celtics into the finals of the Eastern Conference finals.

With the tele at tied at 3-3, Boston Celtics knocked out the 76ers in a thumping 112-88 win. Tatum broke the previous best record of 50-point sets by Golden State’s Stephen Curry against the Sacramento Kings.

Boston Celtics will now face Miami Heat setting up a repeat of the last year’s Eastern Conference finals which the Celtics won.

“It felt great,” Tatum told ESPN. “This was a back-and-forth series. Obviously, I didn’t play well the first half of the last game and I was just happy to get an opportunity to bounce back.”

“To come back home, game seven on Mother’s Day. I had to put on a special performance for her.”
