The 48-year-old artist revealed that he spent five days in the ICU following a serious accident. Brandon Casey of Jagged Edge disclosed that he was hospitalized and in intensive care after a car crash left him with multiple injuries.
On July 16, Casey, 48, posted a photo of his hospital chart on Instagram, detailing that he had suffered a broken neck, broken ribs, a skull fracture, and scalp lacerations. He is currently recovering at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
“I have to send a big thank you to @grady.hospital after being in ICU for five days. I know the legendary Grady Trauma Center is everything it’s said to be—the best in the country. Y’all saved my life, and I’m forever grateful,” he wrote in the caption on Tuesday. “I’m so thankful to all you ladies who took care of me, nursed me, fed me, and encouraged me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, the most sincere thank you I can conjure up.”
In another post he stated that;
“I know people want to know, so here it is: broken neck, five broken ribs, skull fracture, scalp lacerations, and a bunch of pain all over my body, but I’m gonna be good, I promise y’all,” he continued. “God got me. It’s like something is trying to take me off this planet, and God keeps telling them, ‘Nope, not him, not yet.’ All praises to the most high, most awesome, most wonderful God. Thank you, Lord!!!! From your loyal soldier.”
Casey also shared photos of his wrecked car, which was severely damaged on the driver’s side. The driver’s door was detached and appeared to have been pounded inward, with damage extending to the gas tank and the front left wheel. Casey admitted that he typically avoids sharing photos after being hurt to prevent worrying his loved ones, but this time, he wanted to demonstrate that the accident was more than a “fender bender.”
Both of Casey’s posts have garnered nearly 3,000 comments wishing him a speedy recovery. He has also been reposting messages from loved ones and fans on his Instagram Story and feed.
In another post, Casey shared an image of his totaled car. “I never post these types of pictures when delivering the news that I’ve been hurt,” he wrote in the caption. “The people who really love me don’t play about me, and I don’t want to add to their fear of how I might be doing, but I’m going to post this just so you know neither wreck was a fender bender. I could be, probably should be, dead. Oh, except for the big fact that God does protect his flock.”
Brandon, his twin brother Brian Casey, Kyle Norman, and Richard Wingo formed the group in 1995, producing chart-topping hits like “Let’s Get Married,” “Where the Party At,” “Walked Outta Heaven,” and “Promise.” In one feed post, he highlighted a message from his brother Brian Casey, calling him a “terminator.” The caption continued to praise God for keeping him safe.
“Whoever wants me dead, you’re going to have to do better than an automobile. LMAO, Terminator ain’t going!!!! In all seriousness, whatever spiritual entities are conspiring on my downfall, you are nothing compared to my God!!! Better go back to the drawing board!!!! All praises to the most high!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
