Dwyane Wade Will Become The Miami Heat’s First Player Honored With A Statue Outside The Kaseya Center

The Miami Heat basketball club president Pat Riley was not kidding when he claimed that Dwyane Wade “was the face of this franchise.”

The Miami Heat are planning to celebrate their franchise legacy with a bronze monument that will be placed outside of the Kaseya Center in the autumn of 2024. This is because the Heat are so passionate about their franchise.

For this project, sculptors Omri Amrany and Oscar Leon have been allowed to create their work. Michael Jordan, Shaquille O’Neal, Dirk Nowitzki, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar are among the sculptures in Amrany’s artistic collection.

Wade, who won the Most Valuable Player award in the NBA Finals in 2006 and three championships with the Heat, played for Miami for 15 of his 16 years in the league. His records for points, assists, steals, games, and minutes played are the most in the franchise’s history.

“When we retired his jersey in February 2020, I said Dwyane was the face of this franchise forever, and I meant it,” Riley told reporters. In addition to leaving a towering legacy for the Miami Heat, Dwyane Wade has left an indelible mark on Miami-Wade County. I cannot conceive of a more fitting way to pay tribute to him than by creating a monument to that legacy.

The first blueprints for the monument were revealed during the game on Sunday when the Heat defeated the Charlotte Hornets by a score of 104-87. Riley disclosed the information during the halftime break of a ceremony honoring Wade’s induction into the Hall of Fame.

More particular facts, such as the news that the monument would be eight feet tall and located on Biscayne Boulevard, were received with shouts from fans at the game.

“I didn’t dream of this…”

D-Wade is overcome with emotion after learning that the Heat is constructing a monument of him.

When Riley disclosed the valid reason he brought Wade to the game, Wade, who had returned to the Kaseya Center for his bobblehead night, was at a loss for words. Riley had brought Wade so that he could attend the game.

Wade said at the event, “I grew up here from the time I was 21 years old until I was 37 years old.” “Many of the fans, they were there when I was growing up,” she said. Every time I return to Miami, I am reminded that there is no love quite like the love shown here.
