An Instagram post attributed to Diddy went viral. The post said, “I helped you win your first and only Grammy award, which I did out of kindness, and somehow you thought you could win another without my help? Oh okay.” Burna Boy was nominated for a Grammy award but did not win this year.
Screenshots of the said post set the internet on fire, sparking rumours that Diddy had shaded the Nigerian musician,Burna Boy.
The veteran rapper and record producer Sean Love “Diddy” Combs was the executive producer for Burna Boy’s 2020 album, “Twice as Tall,” that won a Grammy award.
The 2020 Grammy Award winner Burna boy failed to win the Best Global Music Album award this year.
Internet sleuths, however, were quick to get on the job and it soon transpired that the said screenshot featuring Diddy’s Instagram was actually fake.
Diddy also issued a public statement to the press saying that the post attributed to him was “fake.”
