50 Cent Tries to Hold Back His Laughter as Fans Say Singer John Legend Turned His Rap Hit ’21 Questions’ Into a ‘Selma’ Spiritual. Fans of John Legend are drawing comparisons between him and Lil Mama as a result of a recent unscheduled performance going viral on social media.
Legend and 50 Cent sing the chorus of the rapper’s huge 2003 smash song “21 Questions” live on stage in the video that is quickly becoming viral.
Supporters of the singer are not dissatisfied with his vocal abilities, but remarks made about him make it apparent that his skills are not on pace with those of the late Nate Dogg, who sang the song.
In March 2011, Nate had a stroke and unexpectedly departed away. He was forty-one. 50 Cent composed the song in its entirety, but he “needed Nate to sing it for me,” he tweeted after his demise. Everything seemed difficult around him.
Now, fast-forwarding to the present, hilarious jokes have instead made fun of the “Ordinary People” singer for unexpectedly giving the song a churchy vibrato, emphasizing terms like “down” and “now.” “Chrissy, go get your man’s.” Despite his best efforts, Fif can’t help but chuckle and continue the show. They said that he performed on stage without being asked, pulling a Lil Mama. Awwww, dude,” wrote X user.
Rapper Lil Mama made headlines when she unexpectedly interrupted Alicia Keys and Jay-Z’s rendition of “Empire State of Mind” at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Even Beyoncé’s effort to halt the then-20-year-old was met with resistance. According to Jay-Z, in 2021, a fellow New Yorker was pardoned for allowing her excitement to overcome her.
Throughout the “21 Questions” performance, the popular song “Get Rich or Die Tryin'” performer can be seen grinning as he and the audience enjoyed Legend’s take on the chorus. The 45th birthday celebration for the 12-time Grammy Award winner allegedly took place in New York City.
A guest performer and 50 Cent are said to have attended the festivities. Another commenter said, “John Legend made this into a Selma smash hit.” “Jennifer Hudson and John Legend are the only people I know that sing every song like a negro spiritual,” was the third response.
The EGOT winner has achieved success with his contributions to other hip-hop albums, even if 50 Cent and Legend have not yet formally teamed together for a musical project. Over his twenty-plus-year career, he has collaborated with Common, Nipsey Hussle, Chance The Rapper, Saweetie, Kanye West, and Slum Village, among other musicians.
