2 Infinitis Were Stolen From The Same Petrol Station Within A Matter Of Days. At the Chelsea gas station owned by Valero, where the crimes were perpetrated, they were committed. Anthony Bratcher and Gakaylanna Sheppard, both of whom are suspected of being involved in the crime, have been taken into custody. There is still a third individual who is attempting to elude capture.
On October 20, one of the victims stated to detectives that he was walking towards his Infiniti when he was held up at gunpoint by Bratcher, who demanded the keys to the car.
Bratcher was arrested in connection with this incident. This narrative is supported by the evidence that can be found in the affidavits.
Sheppard and the other individual reportedly came from behind the rubbish at that same time and climbed into the car with Bratcher. The testimony on this event comes from a witness.
A person living in the apartment complex in North Memphis was the one who found the car that had been parked there. It was transported to the municipal parking lot when it was discovered.
Four days later, a second victim said that he was standing next to his Infiniti when two males approached him and asked for his keys; both of them had handguns.
The victim added that he did not give the men his keys since they were armed. According to the statements made by the victim, he cooperated with their demands before being shot.
The victim said that he was forced into entering his vehicle and driven away from the gas station where the suspect, Sheppard, was waiting to enter. No information can be found on how the victim managed to elude capture.
Later in the day, members of the task force that investigates auto thefts found the stolen vehicle on Bryan Street, not far from where a Valero gas station is situated.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, when they pulled Bratcher and Sheppard over, Bratcher tried to leave but was quickly brought into jail after the stop.
Sheppard was not involved in the incident. Sheppard was a passenger in the car that they were in at the time.
According to the findings of the investigations, both people admitted that they were involved in the many incidents that took place at the Valero.
The allegations that have been made against Bratcher include carjacking, evading arrest, stealing property having a value between $1,000 and $2,500, using a pistol to conduct a crime, two instances of aggravated robbery, and extraordinarily aggravated kidnapping.
Sheppard is accused of carjacking, two counts of aggravated robbery, using a pistol to commit a crime, and attempting to execute aggravated abduction.
All of these charges carry a maximum sentence of life in prison. In addition to that, he is being accused of brandishing a handgun with the intent to commit a crime.
They are scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday morning to respond to the allegations.
