Young Thug Appears To Diss “Rat” Gunna On New Song Snippet

Young Thug has been steadily working on new music since his release from jail. On January 2, he dropped two snippets on Instagram, sparking excitement among fans. The first was a collaboration with Future and Lil Baby titled Dum, Dumb and Dumber. The second, however, grabbed more attention due to its controversial lyrics.

In the untitled snippet, Thug raps, “Never associate with a rat. Go and get some money, get a pack.”

Although no names were mentioned, fans quickly speculated that the line was aimed at Gunna. The two rappers, once close collaborators, had a public falling out after Gunna allegedly cooperated with authorities during the YSL RICO case.

Thug’s cryptic lyrics mark the first time he has referenced “rats” since his release. Interestingly, after his plea deal, Thug requested to continue working with Gunna, citing contractual obligations. This has led to confusion among fans, with some questioning if the diss was directed at Gunna or another individual.

The snippet has reignited debates in the hip-hop community about loyalty and accountability. Lil Baby, who collaborated with Thug on his upcoming album, also expressed disdain for working with so-called “snitches.” On the Safe Place podcast, Lil Baby remarked, “We can’t rap about that if you did that.”

Thug’s lawyer, Brian Steel, previously described Gunna as a “phenomenal artist” and downplayed any tension between the two. Still, the new song snippet has fueled speculation about the state of their relationship. Fans eagerly await Young Thug’s next move as his post-prison music continues to unfold.
