Woman found dismembered in north fairmount identified. Investigators are still searching for answers after finding a dismembered body in Cincinnati’s Fairmount area last year. The Hamilton County coroner identified the victim as 25-year-old Makaila Luckey.
The community was shaken when Luckey’s bones were recovered in the woods off Baltimore Avenue on November 4. The distressing story continued on January 3 when an FBI search team found further bones, including a human head, a block away.
“This person was meticulous in committing this crime,” said Coroner Sammarco.
She disregarded serial murderer theories, claiming Luckey knew the perpetrator.
Hamilton County Coroner Lakshmi Sammarco said a family member out of state recognized Luckey from a Cincinnati Police Facebook post. Family member called coroner’s office, causing DNA matching and investigation.
