The “only date” that Will Smith had with Pepa of Salt-N-Pepa was discussed openly and honestly.
In an episode of his “Class of ’88” podcast that was released earlier this year, the former cast member of “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” claimed that he was “terrified” when he saw Sandra “Pepa” Denton in the late 1980s.
Smith revealed that he had been fascinated with Denton for years, but she was always in a relationship with someone else. This occurred during the presence of the female rap duet on the program.
“Now, she was single,” he remembered thinking to himself. Since we were both going to be in Los Angeles at the same time, I’m going to take advantage of the situation.
“This girl was special, and I wanted to impress her, so I rented a white Mercedes convertible only because I needed to floss a little bit,” he added. “It was just because I needed to floss a little bit.”
After that, I intended to take her on a tour of the Hollywood Hills, drive up Mulholland, do everything else along the way, and then watch the sunset.
The Oscar winner, who is now 55 years old, said that his self-assurance was nothing more than a mask behind which he concealed his anxiety.
“I always pretended that I was playing the game. His statement was, “I didn’t really have a game.” I was always in this full-on, trying to give the craziest flavor of having a game, but it may have been the most nervous I had ever been attempting to fire my shot with Pepa. I was trying to give the wildest flavor of having a game all the time. I was under the impression that I did not have a genuine chance.
As part of her take on the day, Denton, who is 57 years old, recalled the “Men in Black” actor’s interaction with a homeless guy.
In a podcast recording that was uploaded on Instagram, she said, “We were out, and we saw a homeless person, and you gave the homeless person $100.” We had a wonderful time. Then, we proceeded to the Hollywood sign before leaving.
Smith, on the other hand, had a less than nice recollection of that particular occasion since he stated that he was terrified for his life.
When asked about his worries, he said, “My concern was that I was going to get killed.” When I was attempting to develop my game, that was my worry; nevertheless, I don’t really have anything since I don’t have anything.
Their relationship ended shortly after that night, but they “always really got along.” Despite this, they “always really got along.”
Between the years 1999 and 2001, Denton was married to the rapper Treach for a short period, while the actor eventually tied the knot with Jada Pinkett Smith in 1997.
