After leaving the limelight, the project follows the media icon’s adventures and tribulations.
Wendy Williams will soon return to our screens, sharing her tale.
In the official trailer for the Lifetime documentary Where Is Wendy Williams? The media star discusses her problems following the end of her long-running career. The TV and radio personality, who has been put under guardianship owing to illness, is concerned about the whereabouts of her money.
“I have no money,” a woman states in the video. There’s also a moment when she argues with someone over drinking a bottle of whiskey in one day.
The teaser also depicts Wendy’s son, Kevin Hunter Jr., her sister, and other family members concerned about her health while battling for financial independence.
“We all make choices in life,” her sister Wanda adds in the video. “We all face problems. She is still a human. We are her family, and you tell me I cannot care for my sister. What would you do? “What should I do?”
Hunter Jr. also says in the video that he thinks his mother has “yes people” surrounding her and that her crew is not doing an excellent job safeguarding the 50-year-old dynamo.
Last year, Wendy’s manager, Will Selby, denied Hunter’s accusations to ET, stating that the former daytime anchor was focused on “Wendy 2.0 and the new chapter of her life.” He has publicly said he is not taking advantage of Wendy’s medical condition.
“What are you taking advantage of her for?” To get what? Selby asked, “What should I do? […] Wendy is under guardianship.” “The guardians authorize everything she does. A court-appointed guardianship. So, no one can take advantage of her—that court must allow everything.”
Wendy Williams was put under guardianship in 2022 after Wells Fargo claimed she had an “unsound mind” and was a “victim of undue influence and financial exploitation.” However, the mother-of-one rejected the banking institution’s allegations and requested her money back.
In the Where Is Wendy Williams? In the trailer, Wendy states, “I’m gonna tell you something: if it happens to me, it could happen to you.”
Where Is Wendy Williams? It will premiere on Lifetime on Saturday (February 24) and Sunday (February 25) at 8 p.m. ET. In addition, the network will re-air Wendy’s biography, Wendy Williams: The Movie, and her 2021 documentary, Wendy Williams: What a Mess, in preparation for the new documentary’s premiere.
