Wendy Williams has made a bold move in her ongoing battle against her legal guardianship by dismissing her court-appointed attorney, Linda Redlisky, on Wednesday, January 29. According to sources, the former talk show host took this step after growing frustrated with the lack of progress in her legal fight to regain control over her own affairs.
Williams, who has been under guardianship for three years, had reportedly asked Redlisky to file court documents requesting a trial to reassess whether she truly needs to remain under such legal restrictions. However, when this was not done in a timely manner, she decided to take matters into her own hands by removing her attorney from the case.
The 60-year-old media personality has been vocal about her dissatisfaction with the guardianship, claiming that it has severely restricted her freedom and quality of life. In a recent interview, Williams expressed her frustration, stating,
“I’ve been with this guardian person for three years. For three years of my life. I can’t go out. All I can do is look out the window.”
She further lamented, “I’m not in a good position. My life is screwed up. This guardianship mess is isolating me. I feel like I’m in prison. They are controlling everything I do.”Williams also alleged that she has suffered from “emotional abuse” under the arrangement.
During an appearance on The Breakfast Clubpodcast, she voiced concerns about not being able to visit her elderly father for his birthday, saying, “I am exhausted thinking about what if I can’t see my dad for his birthday.
As the legal battle unfolds, Williams continues to fight for her autonomy, determined to reclaim control over her life and finances. Whether the court will reassess her case remains to be seen, but her decision to fire Redlisky signals her unwavering resolve to challenge the guardianship arrangement.
