Wendy Williams remains steadfast in her fight against her court ordered conservatorship, determined to regain control over her personal and financial affairs.

The former talk show host, 60, made a surprise appearance on Good Day New York on Tuesday, March 11, calling in from a hospital where she had been taken just a day prior after being removed from her assisted living facility. Williams underwent a series of mental competency evaluations following her 2023 dementia diagnosis, and despite the medical classification, she insisted that she remains mentally sound.

“I passed with flying colors!” she proudly declared, asserting that she is not cognitively impaired as previously reported.

Accompanying Williams at the hospital was her caretaker, Ginalia Monterrosa, who backed up her claims. “She had those tests, and she’s been deemed not incapacitated,” Monterrosa stated to anchor Rosanna Scotto. “This is great news. It’s public, and now everyone knows factually that Wendy is not incapacitated.”

When asked if she was satisfied with the results of her independent psychological evaluation, Williams enthusiastically responded, “Absolutely. That is what I wanted, and that is what I got.”

Williams further elaborated on her desire to be released from her conservatorship, which has been in place since 2022. Her primary goal is to reclaim her independence, which includes staying in New York and resuming her professional career. “What will I do? I have options,” she teased.

“Getting out of guardianship is my number one priority,” she emphasized, making it clear that she is prepared to fight for her freedom.

Later, during an appearance on The Breakfast Clubon March 11, Williams provided further insight into the incident, clarifying that she voluntarily went to the hospital to consult a doctor. “The police showed up. I’m exhausted,” she admitted. “I wanted to go to the hospital to talk to a doctor.”

Despite the ongoing battle for her independence, Williams remains determined to prove her competency and reclaim her freedom, hoping that her recent evaluations will help her case in ending the conservatorship.
