Comedian and actor Marlon Wayans opened up about accepting his trans son Kai during an interview with The Breakfast Club radio show. Hollywood sensation Marlon Wayans recently revealed his full support to his transgender son, Kai. Not only that, he is also planning to do a comedy show “Rainbow Child” to support his son’s painful journey

Marlon is known for hit shows like “The Wayans Bros.” and “White Chicks.” Marlon is 51 at the moment. He discussed about his personal life and also about relationship with his transgender son Kai at “The Breakfast Club” on November 10.

Wayans opened up about accepting his trans son. Wayans stated, “(I talk about) my transition as a parent, going from ignorance and denial to complete unconditional love and acceptance. I think there’s a lot of parents out there that need that message, and I know I’m dealing with it.”

In a touching Instagram post on Nov. 12, Wayans shared a family photo featuring Kai on his left side, emphasizing the importance of understanding a child’s transition. The actor expressed the need for parents to evolve from ignorance and denial to complete unconditional love and acceptance.

Wayans, who acknowledged that dealing with his son’s transition was initially a painful experience, shared his plans to satirize this journey in a comedy special that he describes as “one of the best, funniest hours (of comedy) I probably could ever imagine.” The project, tentatively named “Rainbow Child,” is poised to provide both insight and humor into the complexities of understanding and accepting a child’s gender identity.

During the interview, Wayans admitted to still working on using the correct pronouns for Kai, emphasizing the importance of effort and love in this learning process. He expressed joy that his children perceive his sincerity in trying to understand and support them.

Wayans said that it is his desire that his children should test the freedom, both spiritually and thoughtfully.

“The more you know yourself, the more you can govern yourself,” He said. The more you live your truth, the happier your existence.”

The actor conveyed pride in his children for being true to themselves and underscored the importance of fostering such confidence within the household.

In a previous celebration of National Son Day, Wayans expressed his affection for both Kai and his 21-year-old son Shawn, emphasizing his parenting approach with humor and love.
