President Donald Trump has signed a new executive order to reverse water flow limits on showerheads. He said the Obama-Biden regulation made it hard for Americans to shower properly. Trump claimed it was a dumb rule that hurt households. He added it took him fifteen minutes to wash his hair. He blamed the flow limit and said showers only gave a drip. He argued the rule was part of a green agenda that made life harder.
The order directs the Energy Secretary to end the old rule immediately. Trump said showerhead rules were too long and too complicated. He mentioned that even the dictionary gave a better and simpler definition. His order brings back the 2.5-gallon-per-minute standard. That rule was in place since 1992 before Obama changed it. The Biden administration had reimposed it but Trump is now ending it again.
“I have to stand in the shower for 15 minutes until it gets wet. Comes out drip, drip, drip. It’s ridiculous.”
He mocked the idea of regulating such a basic item. Trump said the government should not control what kind of showerheads people use. He extended the order to include sinks and dishwashers. The White House said Americans pay for their own water and should decide how they use it.
The president also claimed this rule made some multi-nozzle showers illegal. He said it was a clear case of overreach by the federal government. Critics say Trump is ignoring environmental needs but supporters say he is bringing back common sense.
Trump tied the order to personal experience. He said he likes taking long showers and keeping his hair clean.
