She recounted her busy day, which started at 5:00 a.m. with exercise and preparing collard greens for her family’s feast. After celebrating Thanksgiving and serving food to the homeless, Haddish received a call from a wealthy friend who found themselves without a meal. Generously, she decided to bring them some of her leftovers.
“I’ve learned a valuable lesson,” Haddish told Jimmy Kimmel. “I should have sent it in an Uber or sent someone else to take it there, but I wanted to take it myself because I felt like there was an opportunity to talk business.”
Admitting she had a drink and was feeling sleepy, Haddish explained her decision to drive her Tesla, which she believed could handle her drowsiness. “Tesla drives itself,” she joked. “If you start to get drowsy or your eyes are closed for too long, it will pull over and park the car in such a way to get you help.”
After being approached by the police, Haddish blew a .03 on the breathalyzer. Despite the arrest, she found a silver lining in the experience.
“I’m gonna tell you right now, if I ever commit a crime ever in life, if I decide to commit one, I’m only doing it in Beverly Hills,” she quipped. “Most beautiful police station I’ve ever been in in my life.”
