Cardi B And Offset Were Sued For Allegedly Neglecting To Pay And Destroying Their Vacation House. The house owner claims in court papers by The Blast that the well-known pair put burn scars on tables and other furnishings and colored paint on the white leather sofas.
In addition, the couple—now going through a difficult time in their relationship—is accused of failing to pay the rent and electricity bills during their stay at the house. It claims that the two are owed $85,000 in damages.
According to the court document, after residing in the L.A. rental property for over two years, Cardi B and Offset—real names Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar and Kiari Kendrell Cephus—destroyed it.
The two are being sued for unpaid rent and damages.”After occupying the property for over 20 months with their family, Almanzar and Cephus abruptly left in October 2023. They did not pay their utilities or rent for a while, according to the court filing.
It goes on to say that “After [Cardi B and Offset] vacated the home, [the owner] discovered significant property damage, including permanent stains and scratches to the limestone tile floors, rugs, and curtains; colored paint on the white leather couches and dining room leather brown chairs; burn marks on tables, counters, couches, chairs, and cabinets; broken furniture; broken speakers; and excessive holes and marks on the walls.”
Rapkin and Associates, the firm, is now suing the couple for damages, stating that the cost of fixing what was purportedly damaged during their stay at the rental residence might reach $85,000.
They have attempted to settle the dispute with Cardi and Offset, but the duo has “ignored” the homeowner, according to the lawsuit, so they are left with no option but to sue.
Offset and Cardi B have not yet replied to the complaint.
The lawsuit against Cardi and Offset was filed amid what seems to be the most heated argument since their covert marriage in 2017. The female rapper recently stoked speculations of a split by criticizing her spouse in public and asserting that she is a single woman.
On December 15, a distraught Cardi went on Instagram Live to criticize Offset, stating, “This motherf———likes to play games with me when I’m most vulnerable.” when my confidence isn’t at its peak. He enjoys playing games with me because he understands I’m not a simple lady.”
“You’ve been feeling yourself… because of your b—- a– album and s—,” she went on, as reported by Billboard. And after so many f—— years that I motherf—– aided your a–, you’ve been genuinely behaving filthy towards me. I didn’t even get a f—— thank you from your b—— a—.”
The “I Like It” rapper vented her annoyance at her spouse, stating, “And it’s so crazy that I have to go to the f—– internet because whenever I tell you something, you don’t say s— to me, and I’m so tired of it.” She did not elaborate on the reason for her complaints.
Cardi revealed to her followers during a prior Instagram live on December 10 that she was “single,” ostensibly announcing their breakup.
