Soulja Boy is taking legal action against Tasha K and William Baddest, accusing them of defamation after they allegedly made false claims about him having a sexual encounter with a man. According to Billboard, the “Kiss Me Thru the Phone” rapper filed a lawsuit on Tuesday in a Los Angeles court, citing a May 16 interview on Tasha K’s “Catch The Tea Podcast,” where William reportedly shared explicit details of an alleged romantic relationship with Soulja Boy.
Soulja Boy’s legal team asserts that these statements are untrue and have caused “embarrassment and disgrace that can lead fans to withdraw their support.” They argue that the false claims have inflicted actual reputational and professional harm, maliciously targeting him and undermining his career by portraying him as dishonest and not straight, which is not true.
During the interview, William allegedly described an intimate encounter, saying, “So I walked over there, I get on my knee, he’s sitting on the edge of his bed. I started giving him oral, it’s a big thang and it grew, you know to the left.” This isn’t the first time Tasha K, also known as Latasha Kebe, has faced defamation accusations. In 2022, Cardi B won a nearly $4 million defamation verdict against her over claims involving drug use, STDs, and prostitution. Tasha K’s attempt to use Chapter 11 bankruptcy to avoid paying most of that judgment was rejected by a judge last year.
In this new case, Soulja Boy’s lawyers are challenging the statements made by William (William Thomas) during the tell-all interview on May 16. The video of the interview no longer appears to be available on Tasha K’s YouTube channel and could not be reviewed by Billboard.
Following the interview’s release, Soulja Boy claims that William has been “harassing and tormenting” him on social media, including posting a “defaming and embarrassing sexual photoshopped picture” on X, allegedly urging followers to visit an OnlyFans page for sexually explicit content.
Soulja Boy’s lawyers argue that even though the publications may be deleted, the damage will remain as the statements continue to circulate on the web. A few days after the interview was published, Soulja Boy’s attorneys sent a cease and desist letter to Tasha K and William, demanding the removal of the “false, malicious, and completely outrageous” statements. The letter warned that their actions had already caused harm entitling Soulja Boy to monetary damages and that continuing these actions would increase their liability.
In response, William Baddest claimed that his statements about Soulja Boy were true and that he stood by his account: “Soulja Boy is trying to silence me. He is using this lawsuit as promotion for his tour/album release. I have the right to freedom of speech to voice my experience that took place with him.”
An attorney for Tasha K did not respond to a request for comment on Thursday.
In a tweet that has since been deleted, Meek Mill wrote: “Soulja, if you say you’re gonna smoke somebody and they see you and actually smoke you, it’s self-defense… y’all losing touch with reality for some likes and clout. Insane.”
Soulja Boy responded sharply, “Didn’t Diddy f**k you in the ass?”
Meek Mill has denied allegations of having sex with Diddy after a rapper matching his description was implicated in producer Lil Rod’s sexual harassment lawsuit against the Bad Boy Records founder.
