Soulja Boy Makes Fun of Obama and Kamala: “Trump Put Money in My Pockets!”

Soulja Boy, known for his hit song “Crank That,” is facing backlash for defending his decision to perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration celebration. In a fiery Instagram Live session, he admitted that financial gain motivated his performance, unapologetically stating, “Trump put money in my pockets!”

The rapper further criticized Barack Obama and Kamala Harris, claiming neither had offered him financial support during their time in office.

“Obama ain’t never put no money in my pockets. Kamala ain’t never put no money in my pockets. Trump did,” he said.

Soulja Boy’s comments have reignited debates about ethics in the entertainment industry. Many fans and critics see his decision as a betrayal, given Trump’s controversial political history. However, the rapper remains defiant, saying he would perform again if asked.

He also attempted to clarify his involvement, claiming the event, titled “Crypto Ball,” was not directly organized by Trump and that the former president was not even present. Despite this, fans have criticized him and other performers, including Snoop Dogg, for participating.

Soulja Boy admitted to feeling conflicted about the event. “They tried to trick me, but at the end of the day, it was the president. I had to take the call,” he said.

Snoop Dogg and other artists who performed have also faced intense scrutiny, particularly given their previous criticisms of Trump. Fans accuse the artists of hypocrisy for accepting the invitation.

The controversy highlights a growing divide between artists’ personal and professional decisions and their public image. As one fan put it, “Supporting someone you once criticized sends a confusing message.”
