Soulja Boy recently revealed in an interview on The Bootleg Kev Podcast that he was in talks with Ice Spice before she blew up.
He also shared that he enjoyed seeing the “Munch (Feelin’ U)” rapper‘s career take off. Soulja later went on to discuss a possible collaboration with Ice Spice.
Big Draco spoke about the “Princess Diana” star in an interview with Bootleg Kev, during which he said he’s enjoyed watching her career take off from when he first discovered her.
“I like Ice Spice, I ain’t gonna cap,”
Soulja said when asked which new artists he’s a fan of.
“They gonna be like, ‘He picked a girl,’ but yeah, she new, she popping, I like what she doing. On gang, I found out about her before she got popping off.
“I was talking to her and her shit just took off. I like seeing shit like that, like a muthafucka just be under the radar and then just take off. I like seeing shit like that.”
Bootleg Kev later asked Soulja if he would ever work with Ice Spice. He said they’ve already discussed making music together. “Hell yeah! We already talked. I be talking to her. Shout out to Ice Spice, she cool. I like what she doing, for sure.”
Soulja has also wracked up numerous accolades over the years, including being the first rapper to go viral on YouTube.
In 2007, the 32-year-old released “Crank Dat” and its accompanying video to the streaming platform, which became a viral smash. The song later hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in September 2007.
It’s impossible to deny that Ice Spice is having a blockbuster 2023. Her and Nicki Minaj’s “Princess Diana (Remix)” outsold the entire Top 25 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart combined at the end of April, and allowed the 23-year-old to nab her first No. 1 Hot Rap Song after appearing on the charts four previous times.
While Spice seemingly came out of nowhere with her breakout hit “Munch (Feelin’ U),” it was recently revealed that her father was actually a prominent underground rapper back in the day and helped her hone her bars.
