Shaquille O’Neal has anointed Angel Reese as the greatest LSU athlete ever, after the basketball star put together a remarkable year, leading the Tigers to a national championship. Last year Reese switched from Maryland to the Tigers and had a stunning year setting the NCAA Division I single-season record with 34 double-doubles. She joins a league of LSU legends like Pete Maravich, Shaquille O’Neal, and Seimone Augustus.
“She’s probably the greatest athlete ever to come out of LSU sports. You heard it here first. Male and female. Ever.”
“She delivered that package,” O’Neal said. “See, a lot of us got the package, and we still got the package in our truck. She delivered that package. So, you know, there’s a lot of names you could throw around – men and women – but she’s probably the greatest athlete. Some people are going to exclude it to women athletes. I’m not doing that,” Shaq said on The Big Podcast with Shaq.
“She’s the greatest athlete to ever come out of LSU.”
Reese was the Most Outstanding Player at recent March Madness and averaged 23 points more than any other Lady Tiger in the recently concluded season.
She courted controversy after repeatedly trolling Caitlin Clark in the final moments of the Championship Game.
