In an unexpected turn of events, Rihanna’s previous Beverly Hills house has changed hands again, this time for a whopping $15 million.
This modern jewel had previously been owned by A-listers John Legend and Chrissy Teigen and represented the Grammy-winning artist’s first excursion into Los Angeles property.
Rihanna’s luxury house, where she lived in from 2009 to 2011, is far from a “hopeless place.”
With its elegant lines and contemporary construction, the home has a colorful past that spans over a decade and has seen several owners.
The keys to this sought-after house were recently turned over to a corporation affiliated with Jeremy Troxel, a 35-year-old legal eminence and founder of Troxel Law firm.
Troxel Law has received extensive recognition for its participation in a number of high-profile class-action cases against prominent businesses such as Tylenol, Coinbase, Juul, and prominent League Baseball.
This new endeavor into real estate is a significant departure for Troxel, indicating a diversification of his investing portfolio.
While the $15 million transaction may seem big, the sellers, Dr. Sheldon Elman and Dr. Meryl Elman, both important personalities in the healthcare field, would suffer a significant financial loss.
The Elmans paid $16.8 million for the home, which had been occupied by John Legend and Chrissy Teigen from 2016 until 2021.
The mansion, built in 1966 and located high above Beverly Hills in Coldwater Canyon, experienced a dramatic metamorphosis in the 2000s, with substantial restorations and extensions.
During their tenure, Legend and Teigen made their mark by including unique elements such as an artistically patterned ceiling imported from Thailand, remodeled internal and exterior walls, an improved custom kitchen, and polished wide-plank oak flooring.
Among the many appealing features of this home is the massive double-sided fireplace that separates the expansive family and living rooms.
The 8,500-square-foot upstairs principal suite has five bedrooms, a handcrafted brass fireplace, a private terrace, and a special “glam room” with two showcase closets.
The outside area includes a heated dark-bottomed saltwater pool with stunning canyon views and a vine-draped pergola with a built-in BBQ grill and wood-burning oven.
The facility also has a gym and a movie theater, offering plenty of room for leisure and amusement.
Rihanna, now a millionaire owing to her enormously successful Fenty cosmetics and apparel company, maintains her Beverly Hills presence.
She also owns two luxurious condominiums in Century City’s The Century tower, one of which is worth a whopping $21 million.
On the other hand, Troxel and his companion Kristi Piacentile have opted to lease a luxurious property in L.A.’s Beachwood Canyon while owning a second estate in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The $15 million sale of Rihanna’s previous home represents not just the energy of the real estate market, but also the appeal of celebrity history inside the walls of a property that has held some of the industry’s most renowned names.
