Beyoncé And Destiny’s Child Celebrate Tim Weatherspoon’s 50th Birthday

Reunites With Destiny Child at 50th Birthday

Not only does Beyoncé attend your birthday party when you’re married to Kelly Rowland, but you also get to hear Destiny’s Child perform for you.

That was the case for Tim Weatherspoon, who on January 6 celebrated his fiftieth birthday in Los Angeles’ Fleur Room. Rowland, 42, honored her spouse, whom she wed in 2014, with a glamorous celebration that included Michelle Williams and Beyoncé, 42, from her previous girl group.

Before Weatherspoon’s and Kelly’s boys, Titan, 8, and Noah, 2, walked in to assist their father in blowing out the candles on his cake, the three delivered Weatherspoon a unique performance of “Happy Birthday,” which was the top of his year.

Attendees used social media to post proof of the event. House of Payne actor Lance Gross posted pictures of Rowland and Weatherspoon on Instagram, while wedding and event organizer Tanja de Ruig posted a picture of herself with Beyoncé.

Williams,44, commented on January 7: “For the 35 years or more that I’ve known you…you love hard, super loyal, super supportive, not that friendly, but you somehow have loads of friends!” “Everyone’s affection for you was evident last night at TW50! May you experience even more love, happiness, and prosperity in your 50th year! My G, you are loved!

Attendees at the all-black event were Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith, Adrian Gonzalez Savin, Steelo Brim, Kris Jenner and Cory Gamble, Michael Early, The Weeknd, Beyoncé’s husband, who just won an Emmy, and Michael Early.

On Weatherspoon’s birthday, Destiny’s Child reunited for the third time in several months. LeToya Luckett shared a photo of herself at the beginning of the year with almost all of the DC alums, including Beyoncé, Rowland, Williams, and LaTavia Roberson. Farrah Franklin was the only one who was absent.

The group’s founding members, 42-year-old Luckett and 42-year-old Robertson fell out in 1999 over managerial techniques. Williams and Franklin, 42 replaced the original members; however, Franklin departed the group six months after joining.

Luckett said that at the most recent reunion, “the love, the joy, the prayer [and] the healing” were there despite the contentious breakup. When Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour documentary debuted in November 2023, the bandmates supported the singer.

Rowland, Williams, Roberson, and Luckett attended the premiere dressed in black and silver to complement the tone of the evening.

Top Girl Groups of All Time: The Chicks, Blackpink, Destiny’s Child, and More

Formerly known as Girl’s Tyme, Destiny’s Child was founded in 1990. They saw early success in the late 1990s with hits including “Say My Name,” “No, No, No,” and “Bills, Bills, Bills.”

With the release of “Independent Women,” “Survivor,” and “Bootylicious,” the group’s third album, Survivor (2001), saw them achieve unprecedented popularity and recognition.

Shortly after, the trio took a break, and Beyoncé began touring alone. In 2003, she made her solo debut with Dangerously In Love. She would return with Rowland and Willaims for the group’s fifth and last studio album, Destiny Fulfilled (2004).

Since then, the group has performed a few, notably at Coachella in 2018 and Beyoncé’s 2013 Super Bowl halftime show.
