The multi-platinum-selling performer has a message and new songs.
Good luck trying to locate a competitor named Queen Naija on a list of the most successful American Idol alumni.
Her name was left off of a GoBankRate post published earlier this year about the 34 names of the “most successful” Idol competitors.
Her name is left off of this list of competitors’ digital track sales on Wikipedia.
The reason for this is most likely that Queen Naija, whose actual name is Queen Naija Bulls, advanced to the “Hollywood” stage of the popular competition program but was eliminated before reaching the top 30.
That being said, the musician has undoubtedly become one of the most successful, going 5x platinum, 4x gold, and 2x gold with singles and albums, respectively.
Since turning into a well-known and honored R&B singer at the age of 28, she claims she hasn’t talked to the American Idol judges from her season, Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr., and Keith Urban.
“I have not.” Although I would want to, I haven’t. One day, I hope to,” she said to Yahoo Entertainment. “You remember me from when you kicked me off the show? Take a look.
The musician, who first gained notoriety on YouTube before competing on the 13th season of American Idol in 2014, is back with a new EP called After the Butterflies, which was made available on November 17.
Chris Sails Jr. and Legend Lorenzo White are Queen’s two offspring from two previous long-term relationships. 2015 saw the birth of her first baby with her ex-husband Chris Sails. Legend, her youngest son, was born in 2020 when she was dating Clarence White.
Despite the tension between ex-husband Sails and allegations of infidelity, Queen and White are still going strong.
She expresses herself via music as a “outlet” for her experiences.
“This song is called After the Butterflies, and it essentially captures the music I wrote at a difficult time in my relationship. To tell the truth, I was essentially preparing myself for a second failed public relationship,” the woman stated.
“I wrote songs about it and told my boyfriend that I felt like I had to be truthful, even though my partner and I are still together today and everything is well where I was. I am an artist of such type.
However, she said, the record has some wonderful songs about him as well as songs about loving yourself.
The Queen discusses with internet trolls and her “connection” to the collapse of the Titan submersible
Queen has experienced offensive remarks and trolling on social media, just like many other celebrities. During an April 2022 interview, she said, “I receive a lot of love from everyone, but Twitter doesn’t like me.” It seems as if I am Twitter’s joke.
All five of the explorers on the OceanGate Titan submersible perished when it collapsed underwater in June 2023 when it was traveling to the Titanic ruins. Her name appeared on social media as having some connection to it, for whatever reason. A man claimed on Twitter that she had “ties & connections” to the missing vessel, citing “TMZ reports”—of course, this was all made up.
She added that there’s a Twitter trend of “blaming Queen Naija” for everything. “There was like this teenage troll on Twitter that has kind of like a following on there, and you know, once one person says one thing, they keep retweeting it over and over again, so everybody was just laughing at it, like saying that was the reason for it,” she said.
“They will hold me accountable for Beyoncé’s show cancellation, regardless of the circumstances.” It’s like there’s a part of “Black Twitter” where people seem to be attacking me even if they’re not.
She has turned the criticism into a promotional opportunity. She opened an internet store selling merchandise, including T-shirts, with the phrases “I blame Queen Naija” and “I’ll see you in court.” She claimed the merchandise was sold gone.
Queen said that her approach to dealing with internet trolls has changed over time.
“I simply don’t do that anymore; I used to stare at it and let it spoil my day. She said, “I’m probably never going to see those people again, and if I do, they’re going to want a picture.” “I simply chuckle at it, or I may even give a little back clap. just because I have some free time and I’m bored.
Right now Queen Naija offers advice for anybody attempting to get into the music business. She went from failing to make it onto American Idol twice and then being eliminated when she did to being a multi-platinum-selling singer.
So, just keep moving forward. You must maintain consistency. You must have faith in God. She said, “And you really have to sit there and ask yourself, ‘Do I want this and do I want what comes with it?'” How did you get there? My adventure began with YouTube, which I had no idea existed—it just kind of dropped into my lap.”
