When Joseph approached the 40-year-old lady while she was strolling in the neighborhood of Northwest Third Avenue and 16th Street at around 12:30 in the morning, the arrest report from the Miami Police Department states that the incident occurred.

According to the authorities, she accepted the trip but then attempted to flee when she learned that Joseph was not heading in the direction of the shelter.

She was ultimately successful in evading capture in the vicinity of Northwest Miami Court and 19th Street, where she then made her way to a nearby gas station before placing a 911 call.

officers in search of Joseph, who lives just outside of North Miami, was apprehended by police on Wednesday near Northeast 10th Avenue and 142nd Street. He is charged with armed abduction, attempted armed sexual violence, and aggravated assault with a firearm, according to the police. Joseph resides just outside of North Miami.

As of Thursday, Joseph was being detained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without the possibility of posting bail. According to the arrest record, Joseph is a citizen of Haiti.

Investigators “believe there are other vulnerable, homeless female victims that may have been preyed upon by (Joseph) offering help to get them to a homeless shelter while wearing medical scrubs type clothing,” according to a spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).
