In a disturbing recurrence of swatting attacks, rapper Nicki Minaj was once again the target of a hoax call that triggered a police response to her California residence. According to The Los Angeles Times, the call did not come through the standard 911 emergency line but was instead made to the sheriff’s department’s business line. The unidentified caller falsely claimed that a Black woman had been shot at the property and that two individuals were still present at the scene.

Upon arrival, authorities found no evidence of a crime and quickly determined the report was fabricated. The incident has been officially classified as a “swatting” a dangerous act in which someone intentionally makes a false emergency report to prompt an aggressive law enforcement response.

Sadly, this is not an isolated event for Minaj. The rapper has already been the victim of multiple swatting hoaxes in 2023. In July, police were falsely alerted to a shooting at her home, and in August, another false claim alleged child abuse at her residence. These repeated incidents have raised serious concerns about the abuse of emergency services and the personal safety of public figures.

This latest incident also comes shortly after a heartbreaking swatting case in Atlanta, where a fake 911 call led to the death of an innocent man. The caller had falsely claimed a naked woman was being assaulted at a home where rapper Young Scooter was reportedly present. During the chaotic police response, one man fled, jumped a fence, and tragically died from a severed femoral artery. The suspect behind that hoax a former reality TV contestant was later arrested and charged.

Fortunately, Nicki Minaj and her family were not in California at the time of the latest false report. Authorities are continuing to investigate.

Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR have finally dropped their highly anticipated joint album, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, on February 14, 2025. The album, packed with 21 tracks, highlights the dynamic creative chemistry between the two OVO artists.
