Sergio Brown, A Former NFL Player, Has Been Charged In His Mother’s Murder And Is Scheduled To Appear In Maywood Court. Brown, who is 35 years old, was officially charged on Tuesday by the Maywood police department with first-degree murder and concealment of a dead body in connection with the death of his mother.
The accusations stem from an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Brown’s mother.
On October 10, the former NFL safety was arrested for the first time in San Diego after having spent more than two weeks in Tijuana, Mexico. Before that, he had been held in prison in San Diego.
This occurred after he had spent some time in Tijuana. Brown eventually granted his consent to be deported on the 12th of October, after which he was brought back to Illinois.
On September 16, relatives of the Brown family reported that both Brown and his mother, Myrtle Brown, had gone missing.
Following the investigation of the family home, the body of Myrtle Brown was discovered in a creek that was not too far from their property. On September 18, the corpse of Brown was found in the house where the family lived.
It was established that her death was the result of a murder based on the results of both an autopsy and the office of the medical examiner for Cook County.
Her body was found in a location consistent with a homicide. She had suffered several wounds as a consequence of the assault that had been committed against her.
After learning that Sergio Brown had been arrested earlier this month, the family of Myrtle Brown stated an attorney stating,
“We are also heartened by the news that Sergio Brown has been apprehended and returned to the United States unharmed.”
The statement was sent after they heard the news that Sergio Brown had been detained. The report makes it clear that “Our family is praying that as the investigation continues, more answers will become available, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident.”
The body of Myrtle Brown was found next to a little nature walk that is situated behind her house and goes parallel to a section of Silver Creek. The creek is located behind her house.
Her land is bordered on three sides by thickets of vegetation, including grass and flowers of all kinds, and the stream running through it is enclosed by a row of trees.
It was well known in the community that Myrtle Brown was a lovely and helpful neighbor who would lend her aid whenever it was required.
Officials have said that Brown would make his appearance at nine in the morning at the Maybrook Court House, which is located in the Chicago suburb of Maywood.
