Wendy Williams is back in the limelight, and no one notices. For months, the Daytime Emmy Award-nominated television personality has avoided the paparazzi, expecting an exclusive update on her health and potential return to on-air employment.
She was last seen in New York in February 2023. Her look was fragile, prompting many to worry about her health.
Her whereabouts since those photographs appeared were unclear until radio personality Ms. Jones of the 94.7 The Block morning program revealed fresh information on her pal.
While on the air on January 4, Jones disclosed that she sought to visit Williams after months of colleagues urging her to do so.
Jones stated that when she entered the Manhattan apartment complex, she informed the doorman that she was there to see Williams. He reportedly replied, “You are a couple of months late. “She moved.”
While investigating the building for further information, Jones alleges she was informed by others, “‘Well you know what happened, she was getting better, she was coming around, and then she started getting sick again.'”
Williams has long fought Graves’ disease and lymphedema, which were assumed to be the causes for her departure from her namesake talk program in 2020. Soon after she left, speculation arose about her sobriety issues, her turbulent divorce from her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, and the financial hardship that followed.
“And because her family’s in Florida and people were coming in her circle that they weren’t familiar with and they didn’t know, like, they couldn’t get access to her when they wanted, they moved her down to Florida,” Jones added. “So she is allegedly down in Florida with her son recuperating.”
The update was received with appreciation. “That is wonderful. “She needs a strong person in her corner,” said one admirer on Instagram. “Thank you for checking on her regardless of how people feel. She is a living legend, and we must care for our own,” a third person added.
Jones chimed in, “Wendy, if you listen, you win! Everything you stated about Diddy going to prison for Easter was accurate. Kev can’t receive your money, either. Wendy, the judge, shut him down. You may quit now, Wendy. “The jig is up.”
It was once suspected that Williams’ financial advisor, Lori Schiller, had a role in keeping the star from accessing her money during a legal struggle with Wells Fargo over blocked accounts. In 2021, the host was put under financial supervision.
The freeze on Williams’ account resulted in her sole kid, Kevin Hunter Jr., being evicted from his $2 million Miami condo. The 23-year-old blamed some of his mother’s problems on her new close group.
“I know there are all sorts of things happening that I know in her right mind she would never agree to,” he told The Sun in June 2023. “As hard as it is seeing her being taken advantage of, I know that if I’m making sure she, as a person, is OK, that is the important thing.”
Kevin Sr. has faced a slew of financial difficulties, forcing him to sell the $1.25 million Florida mansion he lived in with the woman with whom he fathered a child while married to Williams and pay more than $20,000 to cover a debt to UBS Bank USA, all after losing his battle to reclaim alimony from his ex.
He is now embroiled in a legal struggle, having sued Debmar Mercury, the production company behind “The Wendy Williams Show,” for wrongful termination in a $10 million lawsuit.
Known for her incendiary subjects and hot “tea,” many admirers have commented that the media frenzy surrounding Katt Williams’ explosive interview calling out prominent actors in comedy would have been an ideal moment for her homecoming.
She hinted about launching a podcast last year, but those ideas collapsed. It is unclear if she intends to return to dishing on anything celebrity-related.
