Marlon Wayans Home Break-In Backfires as Comedian Says He Is the ‘Wrong N—b to Rob’

Marlon Wayans Home Break-In Backfires as Comedian Says He Is the ‘Wrong N—b to Rob’ . In a new Instagram post, the “Scary Movie” star seemed mostly unfazed by the incident.

Just so you know they’re not actually getting much because I don’t own anything. The most valuable thing in my house is my home so if they don’t load it up in a truck and take it away, well, I’d say they did a good job.” But I don’t own anything. I don’t own any jewelry. This is fake,” Marlon said  in the video, pointing to her Oura ring, which monitors her heart rate.

“I don’t own anything. I’m not flashy… I don’t wear jewelry, I don’t wear necklaces.” “I have no  cash. I use credit cards. I’m the wrong guy to rob. I walk down the block and there are a lot of fashionistas,” he continued. In the post’s caption, he added, “I live a simple life with two cats, one of which is a 1994 Range Rover. If they steal it, it’ll need a jump start because the battery is dead.”

He also added some advice to thieves: “Don’t waste your energy or your life on a robbery. This thing is too heavy!!!” You want to carry all that crap around, right? I sprained my hip, but for what?! Again, I don’t have anything of value. I don’t have a lot of cash or jewelry. Choose a better [target emoji].”

According to TMZ, Marlon’s eldest brother, Keenen Ivory Wayans, was at home around 2:30 a.m. on June 29 when two burglars broke a back window and entered the house. The tabloid’s report,  based on an anonymous police source, said the “In Living Color” author was briefly woken up by the commotion, but went back to sleep, unaware of further noises in the house.

An employee who returned to his home around 8 a.m. the next day discovered the break-in. Marlon was out of town the night of the break-in, performing at a San Jose comedy club.

According to TMZ, the two robbers escaped with a safe and several thousand dollars in cash. In the comments on Marlon’s post, fans expressed relief that no one was hurt, but also saw Marlon’s PSA as an opportunity to stop ex-offenders from thinking his house was the site of a quick payday. “If you get the joke!” one person yelled, while another commented, “Imagine a minimalist robbing you.” “This is their revenge for taking more money from you.”

Those who happened to notice Marlon’s son, Shawn Howell Wayans, standing in the doorway behind him almost mistook the recent USC graduate for a robber waiting to get in. “I was so nervous when I noticed the guy behind you! I was like, ‘Oh my god, they’re back at the house!!‘” commented one concerned fan. Marlon purchased the five-bedroom modern farmhouse two years ago for $5.4 million. Located in Amestoy Estates in the San Fernando Valley, it comes with amenities such as a media room, a pool, a basketball half-court and a fitness center.
