In an unexpected and heated public clash this week, Soulja Boy launched a series of offensive remarks about Marlon Wayans’ trans son, sparking outrage and controversy. The confrontation started when Wayans appeared on Cincinnati’s 101.1 The Wiz radio station on January 24. Sporting a red hat with the slogan “Make America Laugh Again,” Wayans was asked about his views on musicians being “canceled” for performing at Donald Trump’s inauguration. The comedian quickly took a jab at Soulja Boy, saying, “I mean, Soulja Boy, he been cancelled.”
Wayans continued, humorously adding, “Soulja Boy better go get that check,” and joking about the rapper’s career, suggesting he hadn’t had a hit since his viral 2007 track “Crank That (Soulja Boy).” Soulja Boy, not one to back down, retaliated on X (formerly Twitter), calling Wayans “a bitch” and criticizing his sense of humor. In a now-deleted post, Wayans countered with a cryptic response, accusing the rapper of serious misconduct.
As tensions escalated, Soulja Boy responded with further insults, including homophobic and transphobic slurs. For more updates check our Youtube channel.
In one particularly offensive post, which has since been deleted, he referred to Wayans’ trans son, Kai, using derogatory language. He then mocked Wayans for supporting his child, writing that “faggot shit runs in the family” and mocking Wayans’ advocacy for his son’s identity.
Wayans, who had publicly shared in November 2023 that his child Kai is trans and uses they/them pronouns, responded with grace. During his interview on The Breakfast Club, Wayans explained his journey as a parent, saying he had transitioned from ignorance to unconditional love and acceptance for his child’s identity.

In his public response, Wayans shared a screenshot of Soulja Boy’s offensive posts and made a pointed remark, suggesting that such transphobic comments could lead to serious consequences. He also humorously reminded Soulja Boy of his long-dormant career, quipping, “Apparently, you’ve been canceled for the last 17 years.”
This ugly exchange has raised concerns about online toxicity, the responsibilities of public figures, and the ongoing struggle for acceptance and respect within the LGBTQ+ community.
