Rapper Lil Wayne who was performing in Los Angeles on Saturday at the Wiltern Theatre in Korea Town called off his show early in the performance after he was upset with the crowd’s lukewarm reaction to fellow artists. This was the last date on his “Welcome to Tha Carter Tour.”
Wayne was scheduled to perform at 9 pm but he reportedly showed up hours late to perform and left early after a bizarre rant.
According to the fans who attended the concert, the show started off quite well with Wayne performing his classic hits, including “Ma. Carter,” “Drop the World,” “Fireman,” “Hustler” and “Lollypop.” But things turned sour when Wayne took a break and handed over the state to his Young Money artists Lil Twist, Yaj Kader and Allan Cubas.
Wayne then showed up at the stage sometime later as one of his fellow artists was performing, grabbed his microphone and went on an angry rant.
“We appreciate it, but we ain’t about to be bending over backwards for these folks. We work too hard for this shit. We work way too hard,” Lil Wayne said.
“This my muthafuckin’ artist Allan, that was Twist, that was Yaj; we are Young Money. We appreciate y’all time,” he said.
The stunt however did not go down well with the fans.
“Went to the lil wayne concert tonight. We waited 3 hours for him. Then it was lit it was cool then he brought some of his new artists along with lil twist they was whack. Wayne got mad and canceled the show. Im still in disbelief like he really did that. Smh,” user @MarcusRealFunny tweeted.
Another fan name Empress tweeted, “Lil Wayne need to stay humble and appreciate the people who support him, canceling a show you were 3 hours late for because the crowd didn’t know your artist is insane.”
