Lil Reese Breaks Silence After Being Arrested For Allegedly Raping Woman In Los Angeles: ‘On My Sister The Whole Story Is Cap And Made Up’

Lil Reese, the 31-year-old rapper known for his hit “Ask About Me,” has spoken out regarding recent reports of his arrest related to rape allegations. The artist took to his Instagram Stories on Monday night, asserting that the claims against him are fabricated and expressing confidence that the case will soon be dismissed.

“They do anything for clout and tryna come up,” Reese commented, urging media outlets to cover the anticipated dismissal of the charges at his upcoming court date. “Try again,” he added.
The incident occurred when Lil Reese, whose real name is Tavares Taylor, was arrested in Los Angeles on suspicion of sexual assault and rape. According to reports, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) responded to a call from a hotel lobby around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday. The alleged victim claimed that Reese forced himself on her and raped her.

Following his arrest, Reese was placed in custody and later released on a $100,000 bond. On Monday, July 15, Reese broke his silence on Instagram, maintaining his innocence. He stated, “On my sister Ree Ree, the whole story [is] cap and made up. F**k I look like? This ain’t that. I know better and the same way y’all posting that sh*t, make sure y’all post the case getting thrown out on my court date. They do anything for clout and trying come to up. Try again.”

On Wednesday, July 17, Reese further defended himself by sharing a series of text messages on his Instagram Story, allegedly from the sister of the woman accusing him. In these messages, Reese appears to be inquiring about the alleged victim’s well-being. The alleged sister responded, stating that her sister was home and okay but asked about her phone’s whereabouts. Reese denied any wrongdoing and reiterated that he did not touch or intend to harm the woman.

According to news, Reese had gone on a date with the alleged victim, and after dinner, they went to a downtown Los Angeles hotel where Reese was staying. The woman reportedly rejected Reese’s sexual advances, leading him to allegedly force himself on her. She immediately reported the incident to hotel staff and contacted the police.

After posting bond, Reese posted on social media, stating he was “unbothered like an MF.” Rapper Boosie Badazz, who reportedly witnessed Reese’s arrest, commented on social media, “They just took him to jail.”

This is not Lil Reese’s first encounter with the law. In 2022, he was arrested in Harris County, Texas, for aggravated assault against a family member. Additionally, in 2021, Reese faced allegations of physically assaulting his then-girlfriend, reportedly pulling her hair and punching her in the face. Reese also faced backlash in September 2023 after footage surfaced of him dousing an unhoused man with water, which led to a public apology and a promise to assist the unhoused community with money, food, clothes, and water twice a month.
