Lil Baby Blasted as “Cowardly” After Deadly Music Video Shooting Leaves Two Teens Dead

Atlanta rapper Lil Baby has found himself at the center of a police investigation following a fatal shooting that claimed the lives of two teenagers, Jakody Davis and Lamon Freeman. While the Atlanta Police Department (APD) did not initially name the rapper their description strongly pointed to him. Authorities allege that the tragic events leading to the teens’ deaths were set in motion by the rapper’s reckless decision to enter a rival gang’s territory.

During a press conference, Major Ralph Woolfolk did not portray Lil Baby as a mastermind behind the violence but instead blamed his cowardly actions for contributing to the deadly situation. “Gang violence that was orchestrated by adults,” Woolfolk stated, adding that Lil Baby knowingly entered a dangerous area.

“A cowardly act by an Atlanta based rapper who went into a rival gang stronghold where he knew he should not have been.”

Channel 2 Action News later confirmed that the rapper being referenced was, in fact Lil Baby. The APD is determined to hold him accountable, with Woolfolk vowing, “This team will work relentlessly to hold you accountable.” In an effort to push the investigation forward, APD has announced a $50,000 reward for any information regarding the shooting.

The violent incident occurred in May 2024 while Lil Baby was filming a music video near Verbena Street in northwest Atlanta. Officers responding to the scene found three people shot including Davis and Freeman. A statement from the police confirmed that the shooting happened during the production of Lil Baby’s music video with investigators from the Aggravated Assault Unit assigned to examine the circumstances.

Woolfolk later clarified that the victims were not affiliated with the rapper’s video production team. “The people who were shot were not part of the video production team. As of now, Lil Baby has not publicly addressed APD’s accusations.
