Kid Cudi Receives Honorary Master Degree in recognition of his outstanding achievements.
1.Kid Cudi’s influence style and aesthetic have been acknowledged by a fashion-focused academic institution, marking yet another milestone in his career.
The Cleveland native released a video from this year’s graduation ceremony at Istituto Marangoni Miami, a fashion and design school in Florida, on Friday (December 8).
In the Instagram image, he can be seen wearing a custom-made hat and gown next to his mother, displaying the honorary master’s degree in fashion design he received as a member of the Class of 2023.
“Today was an extraordinary day,” he said in the description. “Words can’t express how I felt/feel right now.” I’m content; I feel whole, successful, and validated, which delights me greatly.
It meant everything to me that my mother was there to share this moment with me. “She became emotional, and it was such a special memory we’ll have together for the rest of our lives.”I never crossed any stage.
I received my GED in high school and barely attended college for a year. My mother finally watched me do something I believed I could never do. And it was stunning. Thank you to @istitutomarangoni_miami, the whole staff/faculty, and ESPECIALLY the STUDENTS (THE FUTURE!!) for greeting me and my family and friends and bestowing this distinguished award upon me.”
He concluded: “Holy f**k, I got my master’s degree!”
In a social media statement, the school also expressed gratitude to the 39-year-old, stating that proceeds from his Members of the Rage pop-up shop will be contributed to their scholarship fund.
“This honorary degree from Istituto Marangoni Miami recognizes Scott’s (@kidcudi) accomplishments and vision in shaping the scene of modern fashion and luxury with Members of the Rage (@membersoftherage),” a post on the organization’s official Instagram account said.
“Recognizing him as an inspiration to young creatives.” It is a pleasure to bring this to the fashion world and a statement in the ongoing quest for education in fashion and design since it is the future and present of creativity.
“Proceeds from the Members of the Rage pop-up shop will benefit the IMM Scholarship Fund, which will assist other fashion and design students fulfil their aspirations and break into the business.”
The “Mr. Rager” hitmaker has long been a fashionista in Hip Hop, and he recently collaborated with his buddy and longtime collaborator NIGO to establish a new apparel line.
In early October, the rapper and singer announced WZRD CWBY, “a new brand by Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, in collaboration with @nigo,” which would be “coming soon.”
He stated it was “Made in Tokyo,” albeit no date was supplied. It is unclear if it was referring to the goods themselves or the location of the brand’s headquarters as of today.
This is Cudi’s second clothing collection for the year 2023. Over the summer, he debuted Members of the Rage at a London department store. Described as “90s grunge with the soul of hip hop and elements from a distant future,” he had intended to launch the collection in Paris in 2022.
