On Sunday, the 30-year-old media personality received an Emmy for best host of a game show for a media Password at the 75th Creative Arts Emmy Awards, becoming the first woman to do so in 15 years.

As she accepted the prize at the event at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles, the singer said, “Wow,” according to Deadline. That is fantastic, thank you very much. I’m so grateful, I’m nearly speechless.”

Palmer, who donned a brown halterneck gown that evening, said, “I want to thank the people who allowed this to happen. Thank you to Jimmy Fallon and NBC.”

Meanwhile, Fallon, 49, praised Palmer, according to Deadline. “Smart, personable, and quick-witted, all while looking like a celebrity. “There’s no one like Keke Palmer,” he explained.

This year, he marked the category’s debut at the Primetime Emmys, having previously been part of the Daytime honors. Palmer is also the first black woman to get the award or even be nominated.

She was named the next Password host with Jimmy Fallon when the iconic word game program returns in 2022 with a star lineup.

On Sunday, the celebrity expressed her joy in an Instagram post.

“Couldn’t do it without you, @jimmyfallon!” she said in the caption. “I’m happy for the chance to be a part of such a famous game show as Password. It’s a tremendous honor to have won! I’m thrilled, BOOTS! Thank you, @televisionacad ✨.”

In addition to her remark, the actress and presenter shared photographs of herself clutching her prize proudly during the event.

Palmer won the Emmy Award ahead of other candidates, Steve Harvey (Family Feud), Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik (Jeopardy!), and Pat Sajak (Wheel of Fortune).

Meredith Vieira won the same category on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? 2009. This is the first time Password has been nominated in 50 years since Allen Ludden won the program at the first Daytime Emmy Awards in 1974.

In December, a particular Christmas version of the popular game show aired, starring celebrity participants Meghan Trainor and Jon Cryer.

Following the show’s recent popularity, Password has been renewed for a second season.
