Kanye West has made a sudden trip to Japan reportedly seeking a sense of peace after a series of fiery social media rants. The 47-year-old rapper and fashion mogul arrived in Tokyo last week following an intense public dispute with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, over the co-parenting of their eldest daughter North West.

West’s latest controversy stems from his online attacks on music power couple Jay-Z and Beyoncé specifically targeting their family. Beyoncé’s father Mathew Knowles weighed in on the matter “People pay a price for being stupid, especially in the music industry.” He also expressed hope that Kanye receives proper mental health support. Meanwhile West remains locked in a bitter dispute with Kardashian over their daughter’s potential music career. He publicly criticized a planned collaboration between North and rapper Playboi Carti. Taking to X he lashed out saying,

“So Kim got the name and likeness over my Black children. So a white woman has control over the name and likeness of my Black children and then speaks to Carti about putting my daughter on a song with him.”

In a follow-up post, West made it clear that he opposes the collaboration, stating, “I decided North won’t be doing any songs with Carti. How does it look for me to be left off the album, and then he asks Kim for vocals from my daughter?” His frustration over the situation extended into a broader criticism of the entertainment industry and parental rights, emphasizing that “the man has the first and final say over his kids.”

As tensions continue to escalate, sources claim that Kardashian and her legal team are actively discussing how to respond, possibly taking the matter to court.

For now, West appears to be using Tokyo as a refuge from the storm, though it remains to be seen whether this retreat will provide the lasting peace he seeks or if he will soon return to the controversy that continues to follow him.
