Playboi Carti has finally delivered on his long anticipated album, dropping it early this morning to the excitement of fans worldwide. As the music community continues to absorb and react to the project, one high profile artist has already made his thoughts known none other than Kanye West. Taking to X , Ye shared his initial impressions of the album, praising it overall but singling out one aspect he wasn’t thrilled about Kendrick Lamar’s features.

The Compton lyricist appears on three tracks, but according to Kanye, his presence was unwelcome.

“I DON’T LIKE KENDRICK LAMAR’S MUSIC,” Ye bluntly stated. “HE RAPS VERY GOOD BUT I DIDN’T NEED TO HEAR HIM ON CARTI’S ALBUM.”

His statement quickly went viral, sparking heated debate across social media. While some fans agreed with his take, others criticized him for dismissing one of hip-hop’s most respected artists.

This is just the latest in a series of controversial statements from Kanye in recent weeks. In February, he launched into a wildly offensive tirade on social media, where he shockingly praised Adolf Hitler, called for Diddy’s release from prison, and even took shots at the late Virgil Abloh.

His views on Kendrick have also fluctuated. Last month, he initially applauded Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime Show and acknowledged his win over Drake in their much-discussed lyrical battle, saying, “He took down my nemesis for me.” However his praise for Drake quickly followed. Just days later, he praised Drizzy’s collaboration with PartyNextDoor, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, and even expressed his wish for Drake to speak at his funeral.

Aside from Kendrick, Playboi Carti’s album boasts an impressive lineup of guest appearances, including Travis Scott The Weeknd, Future, and Young Thug. With its star studded features and Ye’s comments sparking debate, the project is already proving to be one of the most talked-about releases of the year.

Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR have finally dropped their highly anticipated joint album, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, on February 14, 2025. The album, packed with 21 tracks, highlights the dynamic creative chemistry between the two OVO artists.
