Kanye is no stranger to controversies. The rapper who has had a rough 2022 when it comes to being in the news for all the wrong reasons— including remarks widely perceived as antisemitic— has once again stirred controversy after he was spotted wearing a controversial German Reich t-shirt on a shopping outing at a Balenciaga store in Beverly Hills with his new wife, Bianca Censori.
The German Reich t-short logo is traced back to the German Nazi party.
The shirt he is seen donning carries the logo “Bundeswehr” — which translates to the “Federal Defence Forces” in the German Language. The logo was worn by the German soldier in the Nazi era.
The choice to shop at the Balenciaga store has startled many, as the luxury brand had terminated its relationship with Kanye following his antisemitic remarks in October. Kanye had appeared at a fashion show for the brand in Paris last year.
Balenciaga itself has been in the news for the wrong reasons. The brand came under fire for a photoshoot in which minor kids were made to hold bondage teddy bears.
Kanye’s plan to visit his newly-wed’s wife family in Australia also took a bad turn after he was prevented by the Australian authorities from entering the country for his antisemitic remarks.
