President Donald Trump has revoked former President Joe Biden’s security clearance and intelligence briefings, citing national security concerns. The decision was announced on Friday via Trump’s Truth Social account.

“There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information. Therefore, we are immediately revoking Joe Biden’s Security Clearances, and stopping his daily Intelligence Briefings,” Trump stated.

The move is widely seen as retaliation for Biden’s 2021 decision to block Trump from receiving intelligence briefings. At the time, Biden had cited Trump’s “erratic” behavior and his role in the January 6 Capitol attack as reasons to deny him access. Intelligence briefings are traditionally provided to former presidents as a courtesy, but they are not guaranteed. For more updates check our Youtube channel.

Trump pointed to the findings of Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report, which raised concerns about Biden’s memory. The report described Biden as having “poor memory” and questioned his ability to handle sensitive information.

“The Hur Report revealed that Biden suffers from ‘poor memory’ and, even in his ‘prime,’ could not be trusted with sensitive information,” Trump wrote. “I will always protect our National Security – JOE, YOU’RE FIRED. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Biden’s original decision to revoke Trump’s access was made due to concerns about Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 election results and his supporters’ violent attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Trump’s announcement has sparked mixed reactions. His supporters argue that Biden’s age and memory issues justify the decision. Critics, however, claim the move is politically motivated and part of Trump’s ongoing efforts to discredit his predecessor.

In November 2024, Trump defeated then-Vice President Kamala Harris to reclaim the presidency. Since returning to office, he has taken several steps to reverse Biden-era policies. This latest decision underscores the deep political divide between the two leaders.

While Biden has not yet publicly responded, political analysts expect the decision to fuel further debates on presidential powers and national security. The question now is whether this action will set a new precedent for future administrations.
