Joe Budden Responds to Lewdness Charge: “Y’all So Dramatic”

Joe Budden, known for his career in hip-hop and his popular podcast, has responded to allegations of lewd behavior stemming from an alleged incident in early December. According to the Edgewater Police Department in New Jersey, Budden was charged with lewdness for reportedly standing naked outside his neighbor’s apartment.

The police claim Budden was seen attempting to enter a code into the neighbor’s keypad before returning to his own residence across the hall. The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of December 4.

Budden took to social media to downplay the situation, posting, “Y’all so dramatic lol,” and sharing a humorous meme on his Instagram Story.

“I just sleptwalk somewhere that I shouldn’t have sleptwalked,” Budden said on his podcast.

His lawyer, Nima Ameri, criticized the charges, labeling them as minor and accusing the Edgewater Police Chief of racism. Ameri stated, “The Chief’s comments are reckless, and in our opinion racially motivated. Mr. Budden is looking forward to clearing his name in court.” The attorney also alleged that Budden’s cross-complaints, which involve more serious allegations against the accuser, have not been processed promptly by authorities.

In a recent podcast episode, Budden seemed to address the incident indirectly. He attributed the situation to his tendency to sleepwalk, humorously adding, “Good naked sleepwalking, I just did it again.”

The press release from the Edgewater Police noted that the charges are accusations and that Budden is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. The case has garnered attention due to Budden’s celebrity status and the racial bias allegations levied by his legal team.

A court date is scheduled for later this month. Fans and critics alike await further developments as Budden faces the allegations head-on.
