Conservative social media users criticized White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre after she shared a photo celebrating her communications team as the “best team in the business.” The image, posted on X (formerly Twitter), showed Jean-Pierre and a dozen staff members smiling alongside President Joe Biden.
Her caption read, “Here’s to the best team in the business. I couldn’t do it without you. Let’s run through the tape!”
Critics quickly took to the platform to dispute the claim, accusing Jean-Pierre of dishonesty during her tenure. Conservative columnist Tim Young quipped, “It takes an army to come up with non-answers and lies,” while Washington Times columnist Tim Murtaugh wrote, “This ‘best team’ lied about the president’s mental and physical fitness and failed spectacularly, leading to Trump’s huge win.”
The photo sparked a wave of derision from commentators. Free Press columnist Eli Lake sarcastically asked, “In what business is this the best team?” Conservative radio host Michael Berry ridiculed the group, saying, “Dumb and dumber. And dumber. And yet more dumb. And shockingly even dumber than that.”
Investigative reporter Chuck Ross predicted the team’s swift transition to lucrative positions, commenting, “They’re actually all the worst in the business, which means they’ll be making $300k+ in D.C. within a couple of months.” Columnist David Marcus added, “These are the people who helped lie about Biden’s mental capacity and plans to pardon his son. I’d put a bag over my head if I were one of them.”
RedState.com writer Bonchie criticized Jean-Pierre’s lack of accountability, stating, “I keep waiting for her to exhibit some semblance of shame, but she just doesn’t have it in her.” Mollie Hemingway, editor-in-chief of The Federalist, declared, “There is not an easier job in the universe than being press secretary for a Democrat. And yet somehow y’all still failed.”
Jean-Pierre’s tenure was marked by contentious moments, including clashes with reporters and awkward defenses of Biden’s administration. Notable incidents involved dismissing questions about Biden’s health, ignoring concerns over inflammatory rhetoric, and downplaying viral videos of Biden appearing frail. Her post has fueled ongoing debates about transparency and credibility in the White House communications team.
