Sean Kingston's Home Raided by Police, Mother Arrested

Sean Kingston’s Home Raided by Police, Mother Arrested. Police conducted a huge operation at Sean Kingston’s residence Thursday morning. The police stormed his Southwest Ranches, Florida, mansion and arrested his mother, Janice Turner. Broward Sheriff’s deputies and Davie Police SWAT personnel executed a search warrant at the large Southwest 178th Avenue property.

The 61-year-old Janice Turner was arrested for fraud and theft. She has a $160,000 bond in Broward’s main jail. Aerial footage shows Turner being handcuffed and taken to a Broward County Sheriff’s Office vehicle.

Sean Kingston is being sued, which led to the raid and arrest. Kingston is accused of not paying for high-value things including a 232-inch TV, according to a lawyer. Kingston was photographed in front of this $150,000 TV. Kingston gets sued for using his fame to get free stuff.

“He likes bling, he likes showing off, he’s a showman,” said attorney Dennis Card. “My client has a $150,000 TV sound system, $1 million in watches, and a $80,000 handmade bed. This is organised fraud.”

The 2007 hit “Beautiful Girls.” made Sean Kingston, 34, famous. He has worked with Justin Bieber, Soulja Boy, and others. His career has been overshadowed by legal issues.

Kingston’s attorney claims the singer uses his music industry connections to get pricey gifts. “He’s got basically a script,” Card remarked. “He says that he works with Justin Bieber, and that he obviously puts on a big show here, this is a rental house, he doesn’t own it, and he lures people using his celebrity into having them release things without him paying for it and then he simply never pays.”

During the raid, authorities saw many luxury cars outside the 7-bedroom, 15,000-square-foot estate. The property sold for $2.25 million in 2021, according to records. Kingston was called a fraudster by Card, who said, “He’s on felony probation for trafficking in stolen property and has judgements against him for buying over $1 million in watches without paying for them. For Sean, this is routine.”

Turner’s role in her son’s alleged scams is also questioned. Card said, “She’s complicit in it, she knows what’s going on.” Sean Kingston has not been charged with a raid-related crime despite the significant allegations. He was reportedly out of town. Kingston’s attorney was contacted by NBC6.

Kingston wrote on Instagram after the raid, “Negative energy is popular! My mother and I are good!My lawyers are managing everything now.” The message was released quickly after the announcement to reassure his supporters and followers.

Former legal concerns have reappeared for Janice Turner. In January 2006, she pleaded guilty to fake loan applications and bank fraud involving $132,000 in stolen monies, according to federal court records. She got sixteen months in prison and five years of supervised release.

Kingston has had a rough few years. He was seriously injured in a personal watercraft accident in May 2011 when he hit a Palm Island-MacArthur Causeway bridge. Kingston remains active in the music industry despite these failures.

As the inquiry continues, people are curious how Sean Kingston and his family will fare. The case shows how complicated celebrity lifestyles can be, especially when it comes to money and law.
