Leonard Peltier, a Native American activist convicted of killing two FBI agents in 1975, has been released from a Florida prison after nearly five decades. Former President Joe Biden commuted his sentence on his last day in office, a move long advocated by Peltier’s supporters, including The Dalai Lama and Pope Francis.
