House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries has called for an investigation into a major military intelligence breach. The breach occurred when a journalist was mistakenly added to a group chat discussing Pentagon missile strikes. The chat reportedly included Vice President Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

“There should absolutely be a congressional investigation so that we can understand what happened, why did it happen, and how do we prevent this type of national security breach from ever happening again,” Jeffries said. “This is reckless, irresponsible, and dangerous.”

The National Security Council confirmed the leak and is reviewing how it happened. The chat reportedly contained details on U.S. strikes against Houthi forces in Yemen. Officials insist there was no harm to national security, but Democrats are not convinced. For more updates check our Youtube channel.

Several lawmakers have demanded hearings on the issue. Rep. Pat Ryan, an Army veteran, said House Republicans must act. “If House Republicans won’t hold a hearing on how this happened IMMEDIATELY, I’ll do it my damn self,” he posted on X.

Rep. Jim Himes, senior Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, suggested the officials involved may have broken national security laws. He said the breach would be a key topic at the committee’s next briefing.

Jeffries also criticized Trump’s administration for prioritizing loyalty over experience. He accused the former president of appointing unqualified officials while attacking minorities and women in government.

“These people are incredibly unqualified, irresponsible, and they’re jeopardizing America’s national security,” Jeffries said.

The controversy has raised concerns over how classified information is handled under Trump’s leadership. Calls for accountability are expected to grow in the coming days.
