Peter Thomas denies fresh claims of him driving under the influence. On January 12, the media reported that the owner of Bar One was detained in the Atlanta suburb of Cobb County, Georgia.
According to the meida, cops initiated a traffic check after seeing Thomas weaving between lanes and failing to stop at a red light after leaving the highway.
Officers said that his car had a “strong odor of an alcoholic beverage” and that he seemed to have “watery, glassy, and bloodshot eyes.”
The Georgia Gazette acquired his arrest sheet, which includes driving without a license, expired/no tag, DUI, and no evidence of insurance among his charges.
The ex-spouse of Cynthia Bailey from “Real Housewives of Atlanta” addressed the news in an Instagram video.
He emphasized that the incident occurred a week earlier, on January 3. “I refused to blow the breathalyzer. “I spent the night in the hospital because my blood pressure was so high,” Thomas said.
According to TMZ, Thomas was detained after performing field sobriety tests. He was subsequently transferred to Cobb County Adult Detention Center. Still, as he said, he wound up in a nearby hospital for blood pressure therapy rather than being detained that evening.
It was then that he reportedly refused to take a blood test to ascertain his blood alcohol level.
“They told me I needed to give myself in because there would be a warrant, so I did. “I turned myself in and bailed myself out in three hours,” he stated after paying a bond of less than $3,000.
Thank you, Cobb County. I appreciate your hospitality, but I will take it all the way. I have never been arrested for DUI in my years in this business.
I’m aware of it. I had a younger brother who a drunk driver murdered, so I’m pretty concerned about that,” the entrepreneur stated.
Some of the comments on the site criticized Thomas’ purported actions. “One thing about it, he’s never gonna take ACCOUNTABILITY!” and “Dui, no license, tag, or insurance…really. This is the look of “too old to be this irresponsible,” said two people.
According to another source, Thomas’ release conditions include refraining from alcohol and drugs, not owning guns, undertaking random drug and alcohol testing, and not transferring domicile without telling the court at least a week in advance.
Thomas was accused of drunkenly choking a female guest in March 2022 at his Baltimore bar. Last March, he was found not guilty of the assault allegations at trial.
