Drake Ends Legal War with iHeartMedia Over ‘Not Like Us’ With an UNEXPECTED Settlement

Drake has officially settled his legal dispute with Texas-based iHeartMedia over the controversial airplay of Kendrick Lamar’s diss track, “Not Like Us.” According to court records, the Canadian rapper and the major broadcasting company reached an agreement, bringing an end to their legal standoff.

The dispute began in November when Drake filed a legal petition in Bexar County, Texas, which includes San Antonio. The petition alleged that iHeartMedia had received illicit payments from Universal Music Group (UMG) to give increased radio airplay to “Not Like Us.” UMG, which serves as the parent label for both Drake and Lamar, was also implicated in the case.

Drake’s legal action sought depositions from corporate representatives of both iHeartMedia and UMG, suggesting that the rapper was prepared to escalate the matter into a full-blown lawsuit if necessary. The allegations claimed that iHeartMedia’s actions contributed to an unfair promotional advantage for Lamar’s track, which was widely regarded as a diss aimed at Drake.

On Thursday, attorneys for Drake submitted court documents confirming that both parties had “reached an amicable resolution of the dispute.” However, the details of the settlement remain undisclosed. In a brief statement, Drake’s legal team expressed satisfaction with the outcome, stating,

“We are pleased that the parties were able to reach a settlement satisfactory to both sides and have no further comment on this matter.”

iHeartMedia has not provided any official statement on the matter and declined to comment when reached for clarification.

With the iHeartMedia dispute settled, all eyes are now on Drake’s legal battle with UMG. The outcome of the case could have significant implications for how record labels and radio conglomerates operate, potentially reshaping industry standards for music promotion and airplay ethics. Meanwhile, fans and industry insiders continue to speculate on the next moves in the high-profile feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar.
