Sean “Diddy” Combs is embroiled in another serious legal battle as a new accuser, identified as Jane Doe, has come forward with allegations of sexual assault. The lawsuit claims that the music mogul drugged and raped the plaintiff when she was a 16 year old high school student in late August or early September 2000.
The incident allegedly occurred as the plaintiff was walking home from a babysitting job in lower Manhattan. According to court documents ,Jane Doe was a part time babysitter for a resident of an apartment building where a woman, reportedly in a relationship with Combs at the time, also lived. While the lawsuit does not name this woman, it alleges that Jane Doe encountered Combs sitting in an SUV with its door open as she exited the building.
The lawsuit states that Combs initiated a conversation, expressing concern for the plaintiff’s safety and warning her about walking alone at night.“Combs engaged her in conversation, asking where she was going so late at night and saying it wasn’t safe for her to walk alone,” the documents reveal.
The plaintiff claims she was persuaded to get into Combs’ car, a decision she deeply regrets. During the ride, she became frightened when she realized they were not heading to her home as promised. Combs allegedly offered her a drink to “calm her down,” after which she felt groggy and disoriented. At the time of the alleged assault, the plaintiff was a student at The Museum School in New York City. This lawsuit adds to the growing number of accusations against Combs, with over 40 plaintiffs filing similar claims of sexual assault or misconduct in the past 16 months. In response, Combs’ legal team denied the allegations, stating,
“No matter how many lawsuits are filed, it won’t change the fact that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone.”
Combs is also facing criminal charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, to which he has pleaded not guilty. His trial is set for May, and he remains detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
